Job Description

Job Title: Training & Instructional Design Manager

Department: IT

Reports To: Senior Director of Service Management

Location : Matawan, NJ

Key Requirements (Compulsory):

  • Bilingual: Must be proficient in both English and Spanish.
  • Travel to Stores: Role involves visiting member stores to deliver in-person training as needed.

Role Overview:

The Training & Instructional Design Manager will design, develop, and oversee training programs to ensure employees and store members are equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. This role also involves leading a team of trainers and collaborating with senior management to identify organizational learning needs.

Responsibilities:Training Program Development

  • Design and implement training programs for various organizational levels, including SAP applications, MS Office, compliance, and leadership development.
  • Ensure training content is current and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate and update training content based on feedback and performance metrics.

Team Leadership

  • Manage a team of trainers located across the Northeast and Southeast.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to training team members.

Needs Assessment

  • Collaborate with senior management to identify organizational training needs.
  • Conduct skills gap analyses to prioritize training initiatives.
  • Develop training schedules to ensure timely delivery.

Training Delivery

  • Deliver in-person or virtual training sessions for employees and store members.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized training when necessary.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for training programs.
  • Analyze feedback to improve training effectiveness.
  • Report training outcomes and ROI to senior leadership.

Additional Activities

  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovative learning methodologies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning across the organization.

Qualifications:Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in training and development, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering both in-person and virtual training programs.
  • Experience managing a team of trainers or instructional designers.

Skills and Competencies

  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead and manage training professionals.
  • Project Management: Experience handling multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Training Delivery: Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess performance gaps and create data-driven solutions.
  • Technology Savvy: Proficiency with LMS, e-learning tools, and training technologies (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate).
  • Organizational Skills: Effective at managing complex projects and deadlines.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Skilled in supporting team members’ professional development.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience with virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum annual salary for this position is $85,000 to $90,000 with full benefits.
