About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Operations to provide senior leadership in the areas of fiscal planning, resource allocation, and the overall management of warehouse operations, fleet services, and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of inbound and outbound operations, as well as compliance with safety standards and government regulations. This role involves strategic planning for facility and operational capabilities to support future growth, leading maintenance activities to prevent accidents and reduce costs, and developing contingency protocols for emergency situations. The VP of Operations will also be a key partner with the sales and marketing teams, continuously improving operational strategies, and owning the budget development process.Applicants for the VP of Operations position at the company should have a Master's degree or MBA, with a preference for those with over 10 years' experience in food service or related broadline distribution. Formal training in Lean principles and methodologies is also preferred. The role requires a leader who can effectively manage a large team, analyze and improve operational processes, and is adept at problem-solving and decision-making. The VP of Operations will be expected to lead and direct all aspects of operational performance, support safety initiatives, and ensure the facility is maintained to the highest safety standards. The position demands a strategic thinker who can proactively address business challenges and is committed to the company's mission of supporting independent customers in the food distribution industry.
