About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic and operational leadership for all direct patient care and nursing activities. The CNO will be responsible for ensuring safety, service, clinical excellence, nursing practice, and the education and development of nursing staff. This executive will work in partnership with affiliate hospitals to promote and achieve excellence in clinical care, education, research, and community outreach. The role also involves managing the financial forecast for nursing, balancing day-to-day operations with long-term strategic initiatives, and fostering a collaborative environment with a focus on enhancing the patient experience.Candidates for the CNO position at the company must have a current Registered Nurse licensure in Virginia or be eligible, with a Master's degree in a relevant field. A minimum of 10 years of supervisory/management experience in nursing operations, particularly in a large and complex academic hospital, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, the ability to lead and effect change, and a commitment to a team-oriented model of care. Experience in value-based care models and a Doctorate degree are preferred. The CNO will also be expected to have strong leadership skills, the ability to recruit and retain staff, and a commitment to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and national nursing practice standards.
