Job Title: Design Director – Physical Products

Role Overview:

As the Design Director, you will oversee the entire design process, providing leadership and direction for the development of hardgoods and softgoods. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with brand standards, user needs, and market trends. This role is full-time, onsite in Broomfield, Colorado, requiring hands-on leadership and close collaboration with the team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design team, fostering creativity and innovation in physical product design.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept ideation to prototyping and production.
  • Develop and execute a cohesive design strategy aligned with company goals and market demands.
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
  • Ensure all designs meet quality, aesthetic, and usability standards.
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends and integrate insights into product development.
  • Mentor and inspire the design team to deliver their best work.
  • Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders and clients.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in hardgoods and/or softgoods.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing design teams and driving successful product launches.
  • Expert knowledge of design tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Passion for innovation and user-centered design.
