About the client:
Our client is a provider of water treatment and dewatering equipment and services, both rental and sale, to the construction industry. They can count on a team of dedicated professionals that designs, installs, and maintains customized systems to meet each client’s unique needs. They provide their services to owners, developers, and general contractors who are developing large commercial, institutional and residential properties as required by municipal and Erosion Control specifications.
They are adding a Field Lead to their Richmond, BC team. The new hire will be responsible for providing dewatering and solids control services to a variety of clients and projects, mainly in the Lower Mainland. A successful candidate would be an individual who is highly organized, self-motivated, and can communicate positively and effectively. This individual is also detail-oriented, takes initiative and has a solutions-based mind-set.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to be part of a well-established organization with an outstanding reputation in the field. Previous experience in construction site dewatering and water treatment is required.
Responsibilities:
- Site assessments, inspections, installations, and repair services. Communicating the project status and work conditions to the Project Manager.
- Operate, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of dewatering equipment and well point systems as assigned.
- Install, erect, monitor and maintain equipment (such as well points, header pipe).
- Operate all equipment safely and competently in accordance with safe work procedures and manufacturers’ operating instructions.
- Troubleshoot pump, and piping problems on site.
- Operate machinery including but not limited to compressors, portable and stationary generators, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric tools, and related hand tools and equipment.
- Provide high-quality customer service to our external and internal customers.
- Learn, understand and comply with HSE Manual, safety practices, safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the work.
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of construction industry experience with 7+ years working in construction site dewatering and water treatment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage time effectively while maintaining a sense of urgency and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to set priorities accurately and quickly with minimal direction.
- Comfortable exercising independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines with minimal supervision.
- Possesses strong customer service and communication skills and establishes positive working relationships.
- Displays a strong sense of accountability and responsibility for one’s own quality of work.
- 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, 7AM-3:30PM. Overtime required during installations.
Compensation:
- $40-50/hour plus bonus and paid overtime.
