Our client is a consulting firm specializing in electrical and mechanical engineering design for the construction industry across Western Canada. They work on diverse projects, including design-build, healthcare, education, retail, government, residential, high-rises, corporate offices, hospitality, and entertainment. The firm designs mechanical and electrical systems using the latest technologies and cost-efficient solutions tailored to each project's needs. Their services include technical advising, design coordination, and preparing specifications and drawings for permits, tenders, and construction. They also handle contract administration, site reviews, progress assessments, and project meetings.



Job Description: Senior Electrical Designer

As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will work under general supervision on medium-sized projects and as part of a team for larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. Your role will involve evaluating, recommending, and specifying engineered systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prepare detailed electrical designs.
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines to ensure project alignment.
  • Respond to project-related emails and inquiries.
  • Manage projects at an intermediate level under the supervision of a senior engineer.
  • Conduct field reviews after completing training.
  • Perform calculations using standard software and proprietary manufacturer tools.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and efficiency.


Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field such as Building Systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in developing construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Familiarity with bid and tendering processes.
  • Experience in multi-discipline project coordination and management.
  • Hands-on experience with customers and clients.
  • Knowledge of site investigations and construction review practices.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT (preferred).
  • Ability to conduct site visits (preferred).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

Salary and benefits: Up to $100,000 base. Health benefits, paid vacation, travel allowance, discretionary bonus and more
