Senior BI Developer

Onsite in Dallas, with occasional travel to manufacturing sites

Our client is currently transforming its data platform and visualization strategies, moving from a traditional setup (SQL Server, SSIS, and Tableau) to a more advanced cloud-based solution using Azure SQL Managed Instance and Microsoft Fabric. This position is integral to leading the transition to this modern data platform. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Power BI, a solid technical understanding, and strong business acumen to effectively translate customer requirements into impactful, efficient visualizations. This role is vital in driving innovation, improving user experiences, and enabling data democratization across the organization.

Key Qualifications

Required:

• Ideally around 8+ years of relevant expertise in data platform engineering, business intelligence, and data visualization.
• Power BI : Extensive experience with Power BI, including architecture, data modeling, CI/CD pipelines, security, and design best practices.
• Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of Power BI dashboard development, ETL processes, data modeling, and data architecture.
• Advanced Techniques : Practical experience utilizing Power BI Premium, XMLA Endpoints, and Tabular Editor 3.
• Cloud & Database Knowledge : Strong understanding of Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, On-Premise SQL Server, and Azure DevOps.
• Problem Solving : Ability to analyze complex data challenges, apply critical thinking, and propose effective solutions.
• Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication, enabling efficient collaboration with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Team Environment : Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative, and team-oriented settings.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory , Azure Synapse , and SSIS .
• Experience with Azure Data Lake and API-based data integration .
• Knowledge of manufacturing data and D365 Finance and Operations data structures .
• Understanding of cloud data architecture and principles behind modern data pipeline designs.
