Position Overview:
The Product Development Lead is responsible for driving and managing product development projects, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, and overseeing the entire development process from initial concept through to production handover. This role is key in delivering high-quality packaging solutions that meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage product development projects, specifically focused on caps and packaging systems, from initiation to successful handover to the production team. This includes product design, pilot development, production preparation, qualification, and final production integration.
- Create and implement comprehensive project plans that align with project objectives, scope, timeline, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate and facilitate collaboration between internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure project alignment and progress.
- Oversee project tracking, monitoring, and reporting to ensure milestones are met, budgets are adhered to, and the project stays on course.
- Secure production approvals and ensure the smooth closing of projects.
- Foster effective communication within the project team and organization, ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed at every stage.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and the technical team to clarify and align product specifications and requirements.
- Proactively identify, manage, and resolve technical challenges and risks, keeping the full project lifecycle in mind.
- Define product design, mold specifications, and sampling requirements.
- Plan and oversee mold qualification and sampling processes, ensuring both technical and cost considerations are met.
- Provide technical support to sales, TAM (Technical Account Management), and production teams as needed.
- Manage customer complaints and coordinate effective resolution strategies.
Candidate Profile:
- At least 3 years of experience in product development or a similar field within comparable industries.
- A completed technical education or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to diverse environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
- A basic understanding of production processes.
- A structured, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel globally, with a sensitivity to intercultural dynamics.
