Senior Payroll Specialist

Manhattan, Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)

$75,000-90,000


Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to manage the payroll function for a family ran real estate organization. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll processing, tax compliance, union payroll, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing payroll for 300+ employees, including handling payroll taxes, LOA (Leave of Absence), and reporting. Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) is essential to streamline reporting processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for 300+ employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all pay periods.
  • Manage payroll tax filings, deductions, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Handle union payroll processing and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Administer payroll-related processes for Leave of Absence (LOA) and employee benefits.
  • Produce and analyze payroll reports, ensuring data accuracy and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain payroll records, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues and ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Utilize Excel to prepare and manage complex reports, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, for various payroll analyses.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now, handling payroll for 300+ employees.
  • Extensive experience with payroll tax compliance, union payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced level), including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex reporting.
  • Knowledge of Leave of Absence (LOA) policies and procedures.
  • Experience with payroll systems and related software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Preferred: Experience in real estate, hospitality, or insurance industries.
