Business Systems Analyst

Expected Start Date: May 2025

As the Business Systems Analyst, you will work closely with one of Brooksource’s public sector clients. You will play a key role in gathering requirements, analyzing business needs, and supporting system modernization efforts. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and project managers to gather, document, and analyze system requirements.
• Evaluate and model current business processes and identify areas for improvement to support modernization efforts.
• Develop and maintain documentation such as requirements specifications, workflows, and use cases.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives and deliverables.
• Conduct gap analyses to identify and address discrepancies between business needs and system capabilities.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system changes meet requirements and address business needs.
• Provide post-implementation support and assist in the transition from legacy systems to modernized solutions.
• Analyze and validate data migration processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of transferred data.
• Assist in ensuring the system meets security, performance, and compliance requirements.
• Support API integrations and interfaces with external systems as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the modernization project.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business systems analysis or related roles.
• Strong understanding of Agile development concepts and methodologies.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
• Familiarity with modern software development and cloud-based platforms.
• Knowledge of API development and integration best practices.
• Experience analyzing and supporting large-scale system modernization efforts.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with government or public sector modernization projects.
• Familiarity with enterprise-level systems and large-scale data migration.
• Understanding of cloud-based platforms and architecture.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
