Job Description

The Email Marketing Director will lead the strategy, execution, and performance of all email communications and campaigns for our e-commerce platforms. This pivotal role ensures seamless, engaging, and data-driven email marketing efforts that elevate the customer journey and drive business success.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Email Platform Architecture

- Identify cost-effective email platforms tailored to list size and business goals.

- Oversee the migration of email lists and assets between platforms.

- Design and manage the architecture for both marketing and transactional emails.


Email Campaign Management

- Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies.

- Manage end-to-end campaign workflows, from ideation to execution and post-campaign analysis.

- Ensure emails are user-friendly, visually appealing, and mobile-optimized.


Automation and Personalization

- Implement and maintain advanced email automation systems.

- Leverage customer data to create personalized, targeted email experiences.

- Continuously refine automation strategies based on performance insights.


Performance Monitoring and Analytics

- Define and track key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.

- Analyze campaign performance to uncover insights and opportunities for improvement.

- Deliver regular reports on email effectiveness and ROI.


Customer Journey Mapping

- Map customer journeys to create relevant, timely, and impactful email touchpoints.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure email strategies align with broader business objectives.


Compliance and Best Practices

- Ensure all email activities comply with GDPR, CAN-SPAM Act, and other relevant regulations.

- Stay updated on email marketing trends and best practices, incorporating them to enhance results.


Essential Requirements & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

- Proven experience in email or digital marketing, ideally within an e-commerce setting.

- Strong expertise with email marketing platforms (e.g., Marketo, Mailgun) and automation tools.

- Proficient in analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) with excellent analytical skills.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.

- Highly detail-oriented with strong project management capabilities.
