Our client, a leading General Contractor in Houston, specializes in large ground-up projects across Medical, Automotive, Retail, and Industrial sectors , with a strong focus on Medical construction . They are seeking a talented Estimator to join their growing team and help shape the future of their projects.

The Role

As a Commercial Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and managing project estimates from initial concept to final submission. You’ll work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure competitive bids that align with project goals and budgets. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects and make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing for materials and services.
• Develop and maintain cost databases to ensure competitive and up-to-date pricing information.
• Prepare detailed takeoffs, quantity surveys, and cost breakdowns for all project components.
• Collaborate with the preconstruction team and project managers to assess project risks and opportunities.
• Present bids to leadership and provide insights into cost drivers and assumptions.
• Manage multiple estimates simultaneously, meeting deadlines with precision and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commercial Estimator on large-scale projects, specifically in Medical, Automotive, Retail, or Industrial sectors .
• Proven expertise in ground-up construction projects valued at $20M or more.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Must be based in the Houston area (applications from relocators or candidates with residential/multi-family experience will not be considered).
