Position Overview:
The Director- Generator Product Sales , is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets, managing and motivating the sales team, and building strong client relationships. They will analyze market trends, create accurate sales reports, and collaborate with other departments to enhance business performance. Additionally, they will ensure the sales team is well-trained and aligned with the company’s goals, driving growth and maintaining a competitive edge in the market.
Reporting Relationship: The Director- Generator Product Sales reports to the Vice President of Sales
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- In collaboration with the VP of Sales, leads the development of new product opportunities, account strategies, staffing needs, and vendor relations for the Generator Equipment division
- Hires, trains, retains and mentors the sales staff promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Holds sales staff accountable to individual sales targets and goals
- Collaborate with other divisions to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
- Engages with new and existing business partners to develop new and improved revenue streams
- Develops tools and processes to help drive sale growth and accountability; prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Participates in outside sales calls and big opportunities with the sales team members as needed
- Leads the annual budget development process for the Generator Equipment division; analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Manages pricing, resources, headcount, and expenses based on the company’s overall budget strategy
- Works with vendors and internal support team to develop BOM’s and Proposals for projects
- Embraces and promotes the ESOP program by being a good Steward of the Company
- Drives the flow of communication within the organization and externally with Generac sales management, other vendors and potential new business partners
Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Critical Power components across a variety of markets
- Knowledge of industrial standby power generation, and familiarity with complementary and competitive products
- Efficient in Microsoft Suite applications, including Excel, Word and Power Point. ERP/CRM software proficiency required. IFS preferred.
- Excellent business relationship skills, with an emphasis on understanding, meeting and exceeding customer expectations
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to inspire sales force to achieve maximum results

Education and Experience:
- 4-year college degree, engineering and MBA degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience managing and growing a technical sales organization
- Prior experience in industrial standby power generation market preferred
