Assist the payroll help desks in responding to employees’ payroll inquiries
-Prepare balance adjustments for current tax year and corrections of W-2s for prior tax years in the Payroll system, including and not limited to:
--Unearned wages that are repaid. You will closely with the Earnings team within Payroll, Cash Application team, and Receivables team.
--Legal settlements, where you will work closely with the Office of General Counsel
--State employment/residency, FICA exempt/non-exempt, and Federal tax corrections & refunds. You will work closely with HR and the payroll help desks.
-Assist with the process of the year-end W-2 issuance, including but not limited to:
-Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure that all required information is included on a W-2
-Maintain and update the timetable (checklist) that tracks all W-2 year-end tasks to ensure all items are completed timely Setup and manage reoccurring status meetings with Payroll Business and IT --Conduct multiple rounds of audits and testing to ensure accuracy of W-2s Assist in preparation of Operating Review Metrics data and slides for the quarterly Metrics meeting, as it relates to the balance adjustments and W-2/W-2C stats Audit the hourly and salary payroll (simulation) runs prior to the runs and after the runs After each pay period, review the variance analysis preparing by the accounting analyst for certain tax deductions (i.e. FICA, Federal, State of Employment, State of Residency, etc.) and prepare an explanation of variance if needed Support and backup International Services Employees (ISE) Analyst on the ISE Receivables Aging and Reserve Analysis
