Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in the chemical industry. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for creating and managing 3D electrical models, drawings, and designs for chemical processing plants, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant electrical systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, project teams, and construction staff to develop detailed electrical layouts, integrate systems into plant designs, and ensure proper documentation of electrical systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D Modeling : Design and develop 3D electrical models for chemical processing plants using 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, EPLAN, or similar). This includes creating electrical layouts for power distribution, control systems, lighting, grounding, and electrical panels.
• System Integration : Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (including process, mechanical, and instrumentation engineers) to integrate electrical systems into overall plant designs. Ensure that the electrical designs are consistent with the chemical process requirements and project specifications.
• Electrical Design Coordination : Review and finalize electrical design drawings, incorporating 3D models for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, lighting systems, cables, and control panels. Maintain alignment with project scope, budget, and timeline.
• Collision Detection & Design Optimization : Perform clash detection using 3D models to identify potential conflicts with other systems or structures. Suggest design improvements to avoid clashes and optimize electrical layouts for efficiency and safety.
• Document Preparation : Produce detailed technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system layouts from 3D models for construction, commissioning, and operational purposes. Prepare electrical system documentation, reports, and specifications.
• Standards Compliance : Ensure that all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, ATEX, NFPA). Adhere to the specific requirements of the chemical industry for hazardous areas and safety measures.
• Project Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other design teams to ensure that the electrical design meets the overall project goals. Participate in design reviews and team meetings to provide updates and resolve design issues.
• Quality Assurance : Conduct design reviews, ensure quality control throughout the design process, and verify the accuracy of 3D models and electrical layouts.
• Support During Construction & Commissioning : Provide support during the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases, including troubleshooting and revising designs as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field. Relevant certifications or training in 3D design software are advantageous.
• Experience : Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 2 years focused on 3D modeling and design in the chemical or process industries.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design software (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, EPLAN, or similar).
