UX Engineer

A leading space technology company is looking for a UX Engineer to craft cutting-edge applications that enable satellite control, space exploration, and interplanetary missions. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Irvine, CA , perfect for someone passionate about creating responsive, accessible, and user-centric interfaces for mission-critical operations.
Due to the sensitivity of the work, this position requires onsite presence five days a week in Irvine, CA.
You will need to be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
As a UX Engineer, you will:
- Translate designs into production-ready React components.
- Build and maintain a component library using Storybook .
- Develop responsive, accessible interfaces with Tailwind CSS .
- Contribute to the shadcn/ui component ecosystem.
- Write and maintain end-to-end tests using Playwright or Cypress .
- Create visual regression tests to ensure consistency.
- Document component usage and guidelines for seamless integration.
- Participate in UX reviews and user testing sessions.
What You’ll Need:
- 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design for complex applications.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a user-centered design process.
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
- Basic experience with React and modern frontend tooling.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience designing for both desktop and mobile interfaces.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Storybook for component documentation.
- Expertise in Tailwind CSS and component libraries like shadcn/ui .
- Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
- Skills in dark mode interface design , data visualization , and error prevention in critical systems.
- Experience with design systems and pattern libraries at scale.
- Background in user research and usability testing.
