Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Information Technology Help Desk for a contract job with a client in 250 Vesey St. New York, NY 10281 . This is a fully onsite position Monday - Friday - 8 am - 5 pm.


Rate Range: $30/hour to $34.40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Perform a range of technical work activities either remotely or at customer site to meet business and customer requirements.

2. Side Room/Conference Room Technology Checks - check meeting spaces 2x/day (once per shift). Ensure all IT equipment is operational (cables organized, issues addressed/reported). Perform basic troubleshooting to address issues.

3. IT Peripheral Cart Management - each floors IT peripheral stocking areas must be kept stocked and organized based on specified stocking guidelines - areas should be checked daily, but as required for busier days.

4. E-waste Management - check E-waste carts 2x/day (or as required for busier days) for items to be 1) cleaned, 2) returned to stock, 3) disposed, 4) RMAd, etc. R

5. Inventory Management - maintain the IT inventory room - ensure area is neat, equipment is well organized and adequately stocked. Perform inventories 2x per week and submit request for missing items.

6. Perform required deliveries, shipping intake and process IT shipments including placing new items into inventory.

7. Desk setup (visitor & new hire) - process ticket requests for desk setups. Setups include: monitor install, orientation and upgrades, peripheral deployment, PC placement and setup.

8. Desk & Hardware Reclaim - post departure - collect PCs and other IT peripherals and return desks to a clean and vacant state. Reclaim and store additional desks as requested based on assigned tickets.

9. Desk Moves with Assist - Generate materials (maps, checkout sheets, etc.), labeling desks, use kits, moving desks (on wheels or carts) based on move plan. Additional work may include peripheral swaps between floors which may require additional staffing depending on the size of the move. 50% of temporary staff must be trained on Client processes and Team Lead(s) must have Client experience.

10. Provide temporary staff to assist with projects as needed related to moves and configurations.

11. Pre-stage and build PCs - maintain a preset number of PCs that are built and ready to deploy. These PCs will be built on individual ticket requests.

12. Refill printer paper as needed/request (based on ticket assignments).

13. Locate and physically restart PCs that are alerting with errors as directed by the Support team

14. RMA Faulty Equipment - RMA equipment that has been moved to a central location and prepared to be assessed by hardware vendors and complete RMA process required by hardware vendor.

15. Adhoc Requests - process any additional tickets associated with any of the tasks specified above including monitor changes, monitor adjustments, peripheral deployments, PC placements, PC reclamations and general changes to desk configurations.


The Ideal Candidate

• Able to follow instructions and procedures

• Proven experience in IT Desktop Service environment. (at least 3 years)

• Uses information systems, technology functions and applications in line with IT industry standards as appropriate to the role

• Demonstrates an organized approach to work.

• Demonstrates customer service abilities

• Routine administrative skills

• Good interpersonal skills, basic literacy and numeracy skills

• Demonstrates awareness of health and safety at work.
