Information Technology Project Manager (ONSITE - Long-term Contract)
Location: Glendale, AZ (Hybrid Remote)
Contract: Expected to last 12 months with the possibility of extension
Pay range: $65-$68 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Manages a portfolio of information technology projects of varying scope, size and complexity and provides technical expertise in support of projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plans, organizes, and leads large scale and/or complex technology projects composed of cross departmental and cross functional team members, in support of project requirements, deadlines and budget constraints; provides leadership and guidance to team members.
- Works directly with departments to understand and document project business requirements.
- Ensures projects are prioritized based on business needs and delivered on-time and within budget.
- Schedules resources across multiple projects based on priorities and urgency and acquires project management resources from outside the organization when justified.
- Prepares and/or reviews detailed bid specifications and Requests
- for Proposals, contracts, Council Communications and change orders; evaluates bids and recommends the selection of vendors; participates in selecting contract employees;
- Provides or presents periodic project status updates as well as project team and budget activities to the stakeholders.
- Provides technical information, guidance, and support to all departments, management, leadership and employees as needed.
- Collaborates and integrates with vendor implementation teams to configure or customize software and resolve technical issues.
- Conducts project assessments to ensure designed results meet the organization’s needs, goals and user requirements.
- Maintains a high level of current knowledge regarding systems, technology and communications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SUCCESS FACTORS:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Project Management or related field and five years of work experience in computer systems analysis, design, programming and project management.
- 5+ years of IT Project Management experience
- Strong experience managing projects for COTS software installations
- PMP certification (Currently active or in process of achieving within 12 months)
Knowledge of:
- Current industry trends and best practices
- System development lifecycle used for the development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems
- Project Management principles, concepts and practices including application of project and program management tools and processes, resource allocation and project prioritization and staffing
- Systems analysis methods and techniques.
- Principles and practices of public administration, including budgeting and purchasing
- Basic knowledge of network infrastructure
Ability to:
- Plan, organize, integrate, and manage systems installation, configuration and administrative projects
- Establish and maintain project schedules
- Identify information management issues and opportunities
- Analyze problems and alternatives and develop sound conclusions and recommendation. Set priorities and allocate resources to most effectively meet needs in a timely manner.
