Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all plastics manufacturing equipment, including injection molding machines, extruders, and auxiliary systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address equipment-related challenges and improve processes.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and coordinate with vendors for procurement of tools and equipment.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and manage the maintenance department budget, including labor, materials, and external services.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Lead efforts to implement lean maintenance practices and reduce operational costs.
  • Document all maintenance activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for audits and reporting.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
  • Stay updated on advancements in plastics manufacturing technology to recommend and implement new solutions.
