Position: Insurance Defense Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with 4+ years of experience to join our team. As an ideal candidate, you will work closely with the lead shareholder to manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters. You should possess the skills and attributes necessary to thrive within a team environment, think independently, and have strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire legal process, from investigation and discovery to trial preparation and court proceedings.
• Handle cases through all stages, including taking depositions, presenting oral arguments, attending hearings, negotiating settlements, and maintaining client communication.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Research applicable laws and findings to develop effective legal strategies.
• Review and analyze video, documentary, and physical evidence.
• Take depositions and respond to discovery requests.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and agreements.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and legal approaches.
• Prepare detailed case reports and summaries for review.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in insurance defense.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Admission to the Texas State Bar.
• Ability to work independently with exceptional attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
