Job title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: 402 W. Country Rd. D New Brighton, MN 55112.

Duration: 03 Months

Shift: 7am-3:30pm, 1st shift Monday-Friday.


Pay Rate starts from $22 Per hour.


The Building Maintenance Specialist performs internal and external building maintenance on equipment, building and grounds.

Principal Functional Responsibilities:

The following duties reflect key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Replace lights, ceiling tiles and make minor repairs to walls including patching/painting.
  • Conduct and record monthly preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC units, security systems, and other building equipment.
  • Works with forklifts, power tools, hand tools, rooftop HVAC units, air compressors, vacuum systems, pumps, alarm systems, humidifiers, and generators.
  • Confer with department management to coordinate activities of individual departments, including office moves, furniture layouts, and addressing comfort heating and cooling issues.
  • Work with property management to address tenant and exterior space maintenance needs.
  • Primary contact after hours for building security problems and/or building emergencies.
  • Monitor and adjust BAS Systems on various sites.
  • Performs multiple tasks including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and grounds keeping.
  • The ability to work outdoors in hot/humid or cold conditions is essential to this position. The ability to work in small spaces is also required.
  • This job may have some on call 24 x 7 x 365 expectations, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions / Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. They may need to use hands to grasp or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and walk; lift, push, or pull objects. Employees may be required to sit and/or stand for significant durations during their shift. Hand eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. In addition to the work environment outlined above, those working in a laboratory setting will also be exposed to normal hazards associated with chemical testing operations and handling of biological samples. Some employees are working near moving mechanical parts and are exposed to odors, fumes, or airborne particles. Some employees are occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, blood borne pathogens, radiation, vibration, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Laboratory employees must be able to differentiate colors. All employees are required to wear appropriate attire in the laboratory including, but not limited to, lab coats, latex or nitrile gloves, and safety glasses when required by the task to do so. Minimum Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
  • Knowledgeable in minor Plumbing and Electrical repairs.
