The Smoke Shop is a growing restaurant group in New England , seeking internal operational growth and business expansion in 2025, beginning with a new location opening in Methuen .
Smoke Shop BBQ is hiring for a Director of Operations. This position oversees all front of house operations and works closely with other key members such as the Culinary Director, Operations Manager, Marketing, Catering and all General Managers.??

In this pivotal role, the individual drives the restaurant's financial performance through disciplined oversight of all restaurant financials, including sales, costs and labor and profitability. They are direct ly connect ed to each restaurant location , influencing hospitality and guest experience. Through established leadership and team structure , th e individual in this position will seek to optimize and grow Smoke Shop BBQ. We are looking for a team leader, Smoke Shop brand champion and tactician who is nimble, disciplined, communicative and supportive of all of business growth.

The D irector of Operations reports directly to Andy Husbands , Chef Owner. The Director of Operations directly manages an Operations Manager and works closely with the Director of BBQ, Marketing and all administrative support functions and partners.
Schedule: Full Time Position, with in-restaurant time required , as well as a flexibility on work location. Must be able to move between Smoke Shop locations. Nights and weekends needed for occasional coverage of the manager's absence.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience : Extensive restaurant management experience in a multi-unit environment is required . Previous multi-unit or similar experience in restaurants or retail . Excellent hospitality and customer service skills. Results-driven, with financial acumen . Excellent interpersonal skills with staff and guests. ? Excellent organizational skills. Strong communication skills. Proven team leader. Knowledge of all established restaurant sanitation and safety measures. Positive attitude, sense of urgency, willingness to develop talent.
Physical Demands: Stand for the entirety of an 8+ hour shift. Lift and transport items more than 50 lbs . Frequently kneel, bend over, lift items above head, work in small or cramped spaces . Work in areas of high or low temperatures . Work quickly and safely in stressful circumstances . ?
