Family Law Paralegal Position

Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a prestigious family law firm to find a dedicated and skilled Family Law Paralegal. This role is critical in supporting the firm's legal team by providing substantive billable legal work under the direction of one or more attorneys. The primary focus is to assist with legal research, drafting memos, discovery requests and responses, motions, and orders, as well as preparing for hearings and trials.

Responsibilities
  • Update and organize files, including all e-filing.
  • Schedule and docket events.
  • Fill out legal forms and draft letters and simple court documents.
  • Draft documents by customizing standard forms.
  • Write reports and legal documents.
  • Conduct thorough research about laws and judicial decisions, regarding current and past cases.
  • Help attorneys prepare cases for hearings.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and gather information.
  • Draft motions and other court documents.
  • Prepare discovery and responses to discovery demands.
  • Meet with clients to review discovery responses.
  • Assist attorneys with initial client strategy sessions.
  • Assign and oversee work of legal assistants.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have completed a course of study offered by a college or university specifically for Paralegals and possess a certification as a trained paralegal. Experience in a law firm, particularly as a legal secretary or legal assistant, is highly preferred.

Key Performance Indicators
  • 90% of tasks are completed on time.
  • Meet a billable hour requirement of 32.5 hours per week.
  • No unapproved overtime worked.
  • No more than three unplanned absences, late arrivals, or early departures within a rolling 90-day period.
  • Zero substantiated complaints about customer service, language, behavior, or professionalism from internal or external customers.
Work Hours

Monday to Friday, during regular business hours.

Additional Details

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
