We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join our dynamic team in Kinston, NC . As an Estimator in our flooring contracting business, you will play a key role in facilitating accurate and timely quoting, ensuring the success of our projects by collaborating closely with sales teams, project managers, vendors, and general contractors.
Note: This position can be remote for someone not within daily driving distance, but candidates MUST be able to drive to the Kinston office twice a month for meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating Department:
- Provide the best bid, ensuring it is on time and accurate.
- Oversee the completion of and approve the Schedule of Values and Submittal Packages to be sent to clients.
- Review post-award project revisions, Requests for Information (RFIs), and communicate scope changes with Project Management teams and General Contractors.
- Complete prequalifications for projects to ensure we are positioned for success.
Sales Support:
- Facilitate accurate and timely project quoting.
- Provide clear and concise job information on Job Overviews to help reduce inefficiencies in scheduling, product acquisition, and installation.
- Encourage and hold the sales team accountable to meet goals and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Share insights on systems and solutions to continuously increase the team's knowledge base.
- Regularly update data in CRM, including Notes and Fields, to ensure quality communication and efficient project tracking.
Vendor and Contractor Relations:
- Foster strong and collaborative relationships with vendors and general contractors through clear, consistent communication.
- Work to resolve issues or discrepancies related to project scope, timelines, or costs.
CRM and Task Management:
- Daily review and management of CRM tasks, ensuring all project data is current.
- Maintain close communication with the team to ensure all tasks and goals are on track.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years proven experience in estimating contracting projects in a construction environment.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and maintain relationships with vendors, general contractors, and internal teams.
- Proficient with CRM systems and task management software.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented and able to provide accurate, timely bids and estimates.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems, particularly in the face of scope changes or project revisions.
