Job Description:
As a Carrier Sales Representative, your responsibilities include:
- Sourcing and procuring qualified carriers and qualifying prospective carriers based on compliance and performance criteria.
- Preparing approved rate quotations that meet profit objectives and negotiating rates with carriers.
- Selling freight to carrier partners and booking shipments while entering all relevant data in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Tracking and reporting accurate, up-to-date shipment statuses to customers.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with carriers to expand opportunities with current and new customers.
- Handling dispatch duties and performing additional tasks as directed by your supervisor.
- Staying informed about business and market-related trends, including new product or service offerings, and assessing their potential impact on the company.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience in logistics or customer service is a plus but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (phone, video, email).
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office, Teams, GSuite, etc.) with the ability to learn and navigate industry-based software.
- Ability to cope with pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
