Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to join a client's dynamic team in California. This role involves supporting the Human Resources department by assisting employees, managers, partners, and owners with HR-related topics and tasks. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all basic HR inquiries and will ensure efficient HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to employees, managers, partners, and owners on day-to-day HR-related topics, tasks, and issues.
- Setup new hire files, including personnel and benefits documentation.
- Assist employees with the new hire checklist and collect required documentation.
- Coordinate with Agency Communications for business card ordering and new hire photos.
- Update and distribute phone lists and onboarding checklists routinely.
- Add and terminate employees in benefit carrier systems and update HRIS data.
- Collect and file documentation for "life event" benefit changes and coordinate with carriers for bill accuracy.
- Monitor insurance license expiration dates and schedule continuing education (CE) credit classes.
- Maintain HR records, personnel, and benefits files, and audit for accuracy.
- Provide assistance to HR Director, HR Manager, and Owners and manage conference room bookings.
- Offer backup support for mailroom and front desk as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in an administrative role.
- Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Familiarity with database systems and common HR applications.
Required Work Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Benefits
Competitive hourly pay ranging from $20 to $26, commensurate with experience.
