The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of cutting-edge custom power delivery solutions, including AC/DC, DC/DC, high-power, low-power, high-voltage, and low-voltage switch-mode power supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of innovative power electronic circuits.
- Lead projects from concept to production, ensuring adherence to performance specifications, schedule, cost, and reliability targets.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (PCB layout, Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Test, and Quality) to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT).
- Component selection and supplier qualification based on performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive research and development of new power electronics technologies.
- Conduct cost analysis and generate cost estimates for new designs.
- Engage with customers to gather project requirements and provide design updates.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Perform circuit simulations, DFMEA, component stress analysis, reliability prediction, and design verification testing.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for product release.
- Support the resolution of field failures through root cause analysis.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new engineering talent.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of relevant industry experience. Master's degree preferred.
- Deep expertise in mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, and testing of power electronics systems.
- Proven experience in the design and development of magnetics (transformers, inductors).
- Strong understanding of EMC/EMI principles and experience in designing compliant solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of power conversion topologies, technologies, and control theory. Experience with HV and RF technologies is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with design validation, including impedance and loop phase/gain measurements, precision noise measurements, and load transient response.
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
