Location: Austin, TX

Type: Full-time, On-site

Department: Security & IT – Security


Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of our information security strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the organization’s information systems and data against potential threats and vulnerabilities. You will collaborate with IT, compliance, and executive teams to ensure robust security measures are effectively implemented and maintained across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Strategy & Compliance : Develop, enforce, and maintain information security policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Threat Management : Monitor, assess, and mitigate security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks, ensuring timely and effective solutions are implemented.
  • Security Assessments : Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify and resolve potential weaknesses.
  • Incident Response : Lead the incident response process, from investigation to mitigation and reporting of security breaches.
  • Collaboration & Integration : Work closely with IT teams to integrate security controls into the organization’s infrastructure, applications, and operations.
  • Documentation & Reporting : Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSP) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM), ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Continuous Learning : Stay updated on emerging security trends, technologies, and best practices, adapting strategies to counter new and evolving threats.
  • Training & Awareness : Provide training programs to foster a culture of security and ensure adherence to policies throughout the organization.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Oversee and manage compliance efforts for industry-specific standards (e.g., CMMC Level 2), guiding initiatives to ensure full compliance.
  • Network Monitoring & Remediation : Monitor the network for compliance, manage remediation efforts, and ensure adherence to security protocols.
  • Security Hardening : Use assessment and hardening tools to evaluate and enhance system security continuously.


Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience : A minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role .
  • Certifications : Relevant certifications such as CISSP , CISM , CISA , or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of information security principles, risk management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CMMC, FedRAMP).
  • Security Technologies : Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Collaboration : Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects while fostering collaboration.
  • Incident Response : Demonstrated experience in monitoring networks, managing incident response, and handling security breaches effectively.
  • Self-Starter : Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Citizenship Requirements : Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. A security clearance is required for this position, with preference given to candidates holding an active U.S. Security Clearance.
