Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Spanish/French Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at a boarding school in the Princeton, NJ area .
Strong candidates will have an undergraduate degree in Spanish, French, or a related area and an interest in teaching. Candidates should also have an interest in living on campus and working in the school’s residential life program. Housing costs are typically covered by the school.
Spanish/French Teacher Responsibilities:
- Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
- Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
- Teaching writing and composition classes for both Spanish and French.
- Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
- Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations.
- Teaching students about Spanish and French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
- Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish and French language skills.
- Serve as an advisor for students and have the availability to work occasional “House Duty” shifts in student residential halls.
Spanish/French Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish or French language, literature, or an equivalent may be required.
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish and French.
- 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to be involved in extra-curricular activities as well as the broader school community.
- Commitment to residential life, which can include dorm duty, coaching obligations, and advising boarding students.
