Job Description

Our client, Climate United Fund , is seeking a dedicated and culturally adept Senior Outreach Officer (Tribal) to lead community engagement, expand lending opportunities for Native American communities, and advance clean energy solutions across the United States.


This role requires deep familiarity with Tribal Nations, strong finance knowledge, and hands-on lending experience , ideally in a mission-driven or Native economic development context.


About Climate United Fund:

Climate United Fund will use funding from the EPA under the Inflation Reduction Act to rapidly deploy low- and zero-emission products, technologies, and services to all American communities in order to (1) reduce GHG emissions and other forms of air pollutants; (2) bring direct benefits to American communities in the form of energy security, energy savings, cleaner air, and quality jobs; and (3) transform the capital markets so they can drive an equitable clean energy transition at scale. Key Responsibilities:

  • 5+ years of experience in community organizing, lending, economic development, or environmental justice , with a strong focus on Native American communities .
  • Lending experience in a mission-driven or Native economic development context (e.g., CDFIs, tribal enterprise funding, renewable energy financing).
  • Deep understanding of Tribal governance structures, sovereignty, and historical/cultural contexts.
  • Experience structuring clean energy financing solutions for Tribal communities (e.g., solar, wind, energy storage).
  • Direct experience working with Tribal Nations on economic development, energy projects, or sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience navigating federal, state, and Tribal regulations related to energy projects.
  • Strong financial knowledge , particularly in structuring loans, funding mechanisms, or investment programs.
  • Exceptional public speaking and relationship-building skills —comfortable engaging with Tribal councils, government officials, and community members.
  • Strategic planning and program management experience , with a track record of driving long-term outreach strategies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for conferences, meetings, and Tribal engagements.
  • Fluency in a Native language (bonus but not required).
