Software Engineering Manager, ASIC Platform SoftwareASIC Platform Software team works on the development of the in-house AI inference and training accelerator product line. We are responsible for delivering the on-device control software (i.e. firmware), but also the developer and test infrastructure to improve productivity and ensure robust and reliable deployment of the software stack. This includes integrations into existing, industry leading, Meta infrastructure, but also developing customized simulation solutions for our specific products. We work closely with the silicon architects, production engineers, networking engineers, and machine learning specialists, all in an effort to deliver reliable products on a tight schedule. The team is familiar with a wide range of various technologies, including: Rust, C, QEMU, Emulation, Linux, Zephyr RTOS, RISC-V, Networking, PCIe.ResponsibilitiesBe a highly technical manager, engage in discussions about Firmware development, Networking, AI, Computer Architecture and OS fundamentals.Operate strategically and tactically. Develop vision, strategy, and help set direction for the team.Build a collaborative and inclusive team environment, focused on delivering outcomes against ambitious goals.Collaborate across silicon, firmware, networking, production, and machine learning teams to define and build software components.Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting quickly to new information and re-prioritizing as needed.Be an effective people manager. Assess employee performance frequently, address under-performance, and recognize and promote outstanding performance.Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and onboarding new employees.Minimum QualificationsBS or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience working in the areas of embedded, driver, or networking software development.2+ years of experience in managing a team of software engineers of various skill levels.2+ years of experience in supporting code in production environments.Knowledge of AI fundamentals, Computer Architecture, Firmware development.Experience recruiting and managing Software Engineers.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of ASIC development practices.Knowledge of GPU architecture, RDMA principles, CUDA, Inference and training algorithms.Experience working with hardware accelerators.Knowledge of QEMU, or other simulation software.$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
