The Role
Job Responsibilities: As a Master Data Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy, quality, and integrity of commercial datasets, collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and IT to manage and optimize data supporting key business decisions. The Master Data Specialist ensures accurate and reliable data, which is crucial for making informed business decisions. This position will work across business units to improve data quality, ensure consistency, and support enterprise systems.
Job Description:
  • Create, update, and ensure the accuracy of master data.
  • Collaborate with business operations to maintain established data standards and policies.
  • Oversee management and maintenance of commercial data within CRM systems like Salesforce and Veeva.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency for Healthcare Professional (HCP) and Healthcare Organization (HCO) affiliations.
  • Conduct regular audits and validation, correct discrepancies, and maintain compliance regarding HCP demographic and other data.
  • Maintain current and accurate hospital and healthcare facility data.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across all commercial data platforms.
  • Serve as a liaison between business and IT, clearly defining, documenting, and communicating data-related business requirements.
  • Convert business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Manage overall Data Change Requests (DCR).
  • Create and manage status reports and process guidelines for Data Stewards and Helpdesk operations.
  • Implement quality checks, controls, and periodic audits to assess data quality.
  • Guide and mentor the Data Stewardship and Development team on technical or process-related questions.
  • Maintain clear records of data processes, definitions, and workflows.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to master data management practices.
  • Identify reports to proactively monitor data quality and recommend improvements.
  • Provide estimates and timelines for new projects.
  • Look for ways to enhance processes and automate tasks.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Expertise in SQL and hands-on experience with any Master Data Management (MDM) tool.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • 6-8 years of experience in commercial data management or stewardship, specifically in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.
  • Strong familiarity with CRM systems, especially Salesforce or Veeva.
  • Experience in data governance, quality processes, and compliance with regulations like GDPR.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to work with large datasets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of direct experience with Salesforce or Veeva applications.
  • Experience managing data related to sales, market access, or customer engagement.
  • Prior client-facing experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
