We are a leading Silicon Valley electrical contractor with an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Estimator. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical construction with a strong understanding of the entire bid process.
JOB DESCRIPTION/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read and interpret plans, scope of work, and bid documents
- Prepare onscreen takeoff offs
- Independently produce high-quality, accurate estimates
- Provide breakouts, clarifications, and additional pricing as needed
- Manage design stage of design/build projects
- Manage the quotation/bidding process, maintain bid logs, job calendar, and project job folder
- Transition projects awarded to the General Manager and/or Project Managers
- Build relationships with our existing customer base
- Expand customer base and projects through networking and by proactively seeking out new bidding opportunities
- Develop and train junior estimators
- Other duties assigned as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years in estimating with experience from start to finish
- Solid understanding of pricing/bidding
- Knowledge of Accubid and Live Count software
- Microsoft Excel & Word proficiency is a must
- Self-starter, able to multi-task
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Willing to learn and take on responsibility quickly
- Attention to detail and extremely organized
- Strong time management skills
- Previous electrical construction - a plus
- Construction Management Degree - a plus
- Valid CDL with a clean driving record (verified and approved by our insurance company)
