Job Title: Senior Electrical Estimator
Location: Hampstead, MD (and surrounding counties)

Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Estimator with 5-10 years of experience in commercial electrical estimating, including schools, hospitals, and federal projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence, a passion for the electrical industry, and a commitment to quality standards. As a leader in the estimating department, you will play a pivotal role in project budgeting, estimating, cost tracking, and providing support across all divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage estimating functions, including project budgets, estimates, and cost tracking.
- Review bid proposals, project drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare bid summaries, review estimates with project managers and executives, and manage weekly bid calendars.
- Analyze estimates vs. completed projects and provide tracking with regular updates.
- Mentor and develop estimating staff, providing feedback and fostering skill growth.
- Attend job walks to identify critical differences in job drawings and bid requirements.
- Maintain the estimating database, ensuring all estimates and revisions are properly documented and tracked.
- Develop and provide training to the estimating team.
- Ensure departmental confidentiality and proper organization of estimate files.
- Continuously seek innovative ways to improve performance, efficiency, and success.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction.
- Field experience as an electrician or a degree in Construction Management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction industry practices and the National Electrical Code.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
- Excellent conceptual estimating ability and familiarity with all types of electrical systems (e.g., fire alarm, lighting, power distribution).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the Baltimore industry and surrounding counties is preferred.
