Job Description:

Our Operations Manager position may be the right fit for you! At Bayou City Hemp we are passionate about making hemp beverages and are looking for someone with a passion for moving faster, more efficiently and can help us solve some tough challenges. This role would oversee more than one facility in the Houston area with an array of team members across the operations sector of the company. This is a full-time, on-site position that would work closely with C-Suite executives.


Reports to: Chief Operations Officer


Job Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  1. Leading Teams Responsible for overseeing the Production team (extraction, processing, emulsion, brewers/cellars, packaging, fulfillment and logistics) and ensuring all daily tasks are completed in an efficient and effective manner and following up with the COO
  2. Hire, train, supervise employees and ensure employees are motivated, engaged and productive
  3. Develops daily, weekly and monthly short- and long-range production schedules for operations, as well as creates forecasts for these schedules. Responsible for all day to day responsibilities of the warehouse, production lines and teams
  4. Operational Excellence Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment throughout the facility by doing daily, weekly and monthly facilities walk throughs and communicating any issues to COO
  5. Identify any bottlenecks in workflow, regarding production demands and reports shortcomings to COO
  6. Oversee the operations of the facility in accordance with GMP Standards and SOPs set by the Quality department, i.e., ensure all SOPs are being followed by production team daily i.e. PPE, cleanliness, etc
  7. Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and relevant standards are met daily by all team members in the operations sector of the organization
  8. Adheres to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  9. Ensures all production equipment is clean, up to date on all services, and has the mechanical aptitude to fix or arrange fixing of heavy machinery when needed (manages a technician/floater)
  10. Problem Solve Proactive in developing and implementing processes to improve efficiency, and ensuring the smooth execution of operations
  11. Developing and implementing objectives, short- and long-range planning, and projects and programs to achieve goals
  12. Organizes workflow of bulk ingredients through process, creates schedule of processes and coordinates the Production Team to ensure that schedule is in effect and efficient.
  13. Manage department budgets, and ensuring the prudent allocation of resources


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading people, including performance management, mentoring and coaching
  • Proven background in handling operations for multiple facilities or locations
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience running a production line in the food and/or beverage industry
  • Excellent communication skills and must be a team player
  • Knowledge of beverage distribution and logistics is imperative to succeed in this role
  • Understands GMP standards and expects all employees to adhere to those standards regularly.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Experience managing multiple projects across locations and departments
  • A background in inventory management is a plus to handle the minimization of aging stock, holds, recalls, re-stocks, etc.
