Director, CDC Operations
What you will do:
- Direct, coordinate, and motivate staff within the operation to ensure that daily objectives are met.
- Develop logistics and warehousing processes capable of consistent delivery of goods to exceed our customer needs and expectations.
- Develop a team culture consistent with Cooper’s values.
- Foster ownership-driven success throughout each department.
- Communicate and coordinate with internal departments to ensure that objectives and strategies are being supported. Collaboration across all internal functions is a must.
- Develop and implement a strategy for warehouse storage/handling objectives that supports our strategic growth plan.
- Negotiate and select from a wide range of third-party providers for warehouse services aligning with the strategic growth of the business.
- In conjunction with Sonepar, initiate and implement technologies that drive efficiency and effectiveness within all segments of the warehouse environment.
- Multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the day.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of five years of industry experience.
- Minimum of five years of leadership experience in a senior management role.
- Proven experience in leading and operating Distribution Centers of 500,000 SF.
- Operational experience with automated warehouses and Goods-to-Person picking systems.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with warehousing, and logistics operations in a Central Distribution Center environment.
- Ability to drive change, standardize processes, and build and maintain strong performance,
- Experience in an environment recognized for driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Warehouse design and corresponding equipment utilization experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and basic data analytics.
- Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively collaborate with Purchasing, Sales., Operations, IT, Finance, and Human Resources teams.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- The ability to sit, stand, and walk for the full length of the assigned shift.
- The ability to use hands to enter data using traditional keyboard and RF equipment.
- The ability to lift, push, and pull material and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and heavier weights with proper equipment.
- The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform various duties.
- The ability to operate powered industrial trucks safely. Training will be provided.
- This job is performed within an office and warehouse environment.
Location: Cranbury, NJ (on-site)
Work Hours: 8 am – 5 pm
Compensation: $150k-$175k plus bonus
