Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Content Creator / Social Media Producer for a full-time position in Arlington, VA.
This role is central to the mission of connecting with audiences through unique and impactful storytelling across various platforms. The successful candidate will be passionate about news, politics, science, and weather, and will have the ability to develop and produce original content that resonates with audiences of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce highly shareable original content for platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok
- Stay informed about societal trends and use this knowledge to create fresh and original content ideas
- Attend daily Content Strategy Sessions and independently pitch and produce original digital content
- Assist reporters and anchors in creating native social content
- Mentor junior team members in all aspects of development, production, and community management
- Coordinate with local news teams on coverage plans when necessitated by breaking news or major events
Preferred Experience:
- BA in Film/Television/Video Production/Journalism and/or minor in Graphic Design
- Minimum 5-7 years hands-on experience in all aspects of video production
- Operational knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other creative software
- Experience in front of the camera and a strong personality to match
- Impeccable spelling and grammar, a deep understanding of social media trends, and vertical video editing skills
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, extremely organized, and possess a uniquely creative mind. They must be comfortable with ambiguity and change, and be willing to work outside of traditional hours depending on the news cycle.
