We are seeking a Logistics Freight Manager for a very well established company in the Watertown, NY area.

The Freight Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s US and Canadian in- and out-bound shipments via truckload, less-than-truck (LTL), and parcel carriers.

Responsibilities:

•Manages and maintains all freight functions within an internal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System and multiple customer Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

•Manages the planning and scheduling of hundreds of weekly shipments.

•Follows unique routing guides specific to hundreds of customers to insure accurate shipment and delivery of goods.

•Selects carriers, manages relationships, and negotiates rates. Keeps up to date on those carriers, routes and changes.

•Ensures adherence to transportation regulations.

•Addresses transportation issues like unexpected delays, damaged goods, carrier disruptions and unexpected fees/fines.

•Works closely across numerous departments including Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Finance and Warehouse/Shipping.

•Leads, mentors, and manages the Domestic Freight Department including the Logistics Coordinator.

Requirements:

•Minimum 3 years experience in the transportation/logistics field.

•Minimum 1 year people management experience.

Salary: $72,500 - $90,625
