Seeking to fill the position of an experienced superintendent that will work in a hospital environment and be capable of supervising the installation of ductwork, hydronic, steam, steam condensate, medical gas, domestic water, waste and vent piping as well as the installation of duct systems. The individual will be responsible for managing several projects jobs at once within the footprint of the medical facility.
Typical Duties will include, but not limited to the following:
- Maintain required manpower levels and identify future personnel needs.
- Direct personnel to achieve completion of project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Support project and construction management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for piping activities to include review of drawings, field measurement and sketches.
- Adhere to and support the company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and monitor compliance with field forces.
- Coordinate scheduling with project managers.
- Perform mechanical and plumbing layout and coordination with other trades.
- Perform material take-offs as required by field conditions and purchase pipe, valves, and fittings.
- Control job labor costs by evaluating performance and motivation.
- Keep track of employee’s work hours and time sheets and submit to payroll on a weekly basis.
- Sketch ductwork for fabrication by shop as required by field conditions.
- Attend coordination meetings and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Assists the project manager with onsite review of prospective work and assist in pricing.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the Mechanical & Plumbing industry and at least 3 years of field supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Have the ability to manage up to 20 men of various trade skills on multiple projects.
- Ability to understand HVAC and plumbing systems and have a knowledge of the building code.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office related products and Adobe.
- Strong work ethic. Willing to meet scheduled deadlines for completing projects.
- Creativity with the ability to think outside of the box for problem solving.
- OSHA 30 certification.
