Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Two Harbors, MN

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Variable

Position Overview:

The MLT will perform laboratory analyses, evaluate results, and report findings. This role involves solving basic laboratory problems and assisting in the maintenance of laboratory systems. This is a great opportunity for professionals with strong laboratory skills looking to contribute to a healthcare facility in a rural setting


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory analyses and ensure accurate results.
  • Evaluate laboratory results and report findings to the appropriate healthcare staff.
  • Recognize and solve basic laboratory problems as they arise.
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and systems.
  • Follow safety and infection control protocols in the laboratory setting.
  • Maintain clean and organized laboratory workspaces.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance standards.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: ASCP certification as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, along with strong communication skills.
