Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Seymour, CT (onsite)
Compensation: Salary up to $115k
Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join a dynamic team at a fast-growing manufacturing facility. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manufacturing engineering principles, Lean methodologies, and process optimization, coupled with hands-on experience in CNC or Davenport machining.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Evaluate and improve product flow, plant layout, and equipment utilization for increased throughput and reduced labor costs.
- Conduct time studies and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities and streamline operations.
- Collaborate with the production floor to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Lead and facilitate Lean/5S events to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee and recommend capital equipment upgrades, ensuring integration with Industry 4.0 technologies when applicable.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and training documentation.
- Perform root cause analyses for quality or efficiency challenges and implement corrective actions.
- Support the engineering manager and cross-functional teams on new product development and operational projects.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required).
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in precision components or high-volume machining.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software
- Strong knowledge of Lean principles and process optimization; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Proven ability to analyze and enhance production workflows and implement data-driven solutions.
- Familiarity with 5S methodology and experience in facilitating Lean events.
