  • Medsurg/Onc RN position at St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center
  • Department: Medsurg/Onc RN - oncology (core staff to do chemo)
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and geriatrics, Strokes, HTN, COPD, Cellulitis, CHF, A fib non RVR, Chest pain, MI after ICU, Cellulitis, AMS/behavioral, some Tele, surgical overflow
  • Must have Experience: Ok first time travelers - Prefer experience with trach and BiPAP, not required
  • Charge Nurse on each shift
  • Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit available
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 0700-1930, 1900-0730, manager to make schedule - Will consider block scheduling if unit needs are met
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other
  • Holiday Requirement: As needed
  • Floating Requirements: will float to other MedSurg units, if go to tele- a tele RN will do their strips, ER holds occasionally, no mom baby
  • Great unit culture and teamwork, family oriented unit, want travelers to feel supported
    Job Requirements
  • BLS certification required
  • Experience with trach and BiPAP preferred
  • RNs required to titrate drips
  • Charge Nurse available for both shifts
    Schedule Information
  • 0700-1930, 1900-0730 shifts
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • As needed holiday requirement
  • 1-2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
    Unit Specific Information
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Lasix, Heparin - prefer lasix experience not a must
  • RT Equipment: BiPAP stable, trachs established with blow by oxygen
  • Tele/monitor techs available on this unit
  • RN not required to read and interpret strips, they use tele packs, have a monitor tech for strips
    Additional Details
  • Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
