  • Med Surg 3CC RN position at St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Department: MedSurg 3CC RN
  • Common diagnoses include total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery, bariatrics, and medical overflow.
    Job Requirements
  • BLS certification required
  • Prefer surgical experience, post-op, and early ambulation experience
  • No requirement to titrate drips
  • Charge Nurse on each shift, occasionally takes a low acuity assignment
  • Experience with heparin drip, PCA pump, TPN preferred
    Schedule Information
  • 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 shifts
  • Manager to make schedule; self-scheduling and block scheduling considered if unit needs are met
  • Weekend requirement: every other
  • Holiday requirement: as needed
  • Floating to medical and telemetry units may be required
    Unit Specific Information
  • # of Beds: 30
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4-5, Nights: 1:5-6
  • Nurse aids/patient care techs on unit: 1:12 ratio, 1 tech available
  • RT Equipment includes nasal cannula, RT does treatments
  • Remote tele packs and monitor tech available for reading and interpreting
    Additional Details
  • Close knit and good culture on the unit
  • Bedside shift report is an expectation
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract)
  • Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions
