Senior Real Estate Development Project Manager – Dallas, TX


$170K–$210K + Bonus | Dallas, TX | Affordable Housing Development


A leading developer of affordable, market-rate, and student housing is seeking a Senior Development Manager to oversee affordable housing projects for families, seniors, and individuals with special needs in Dallas, TX . This role is responsible for land acquisition, feasibility analysis, securing entitlements, project financing, and managing design and engineering teams to ensure successful project completion. Additionally, the Senior Development Manager will lead and mentor a team of project managers in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership – Oversee the full development cycle from land acquisition to construction completion and operations .

Financial Management – Develop proformas, financial models, and feasibility analyses to ensure project viability.

Entitlements & Approvals – Manage zoning, permitting, and regulatory approvals , working closely with municipalities and stakeholders.

Funding & Financing – Secure project financing through LIHTC (4% and 9% tax credits), bond transactions, and other funding sources .

Team Leadership – Lead and mentor a team of project managers , providing strategic guidance on development execution .

Stakeholder Engagement – Represent the company at public meetings, city council hearings, and planning commissions .

Cross-Department Collaboration – Work closely with acquisitions, construction, predevelopment, and asset management teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications:


?? LIHTC experience is required (4% and 9% tax credits).

?? Bachelor’s degree + 5–10 years of experience in real estate development (multi-family/affordable housing) OR Master’s degree + 3–8 years of experience .

?? Proven ability to take projects from acquisition through financing, construction, and stabilization .

?? Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and feasibility analysis skills.

?? Experience managing entitlement processes, zoning regulations, and public approvals .

?? Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project) and project management software .

?? Excellent leadership, negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.
