  • ICU RN position at Health Mercy Council Bluffs
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Department: ICU RN
  • Patient to Nurse Ratio: 2:1
  • Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction (MI)
  • Experience required: Preferred 2 years in ICU
  • Must have skills: ICU experience with drips, vents, and bipaps
  • Charge Nurse present on each shift
  • Hospitalist available 24/7, intensivists during day hours
    Job Requirements
  • Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • PALS & TNCC preferred
  • Must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: 1830-0700
  • Every third weekend required
  • Holiday requirement: 4th of July
  • No self-scheduling allowed
  • Floating to PCU if not needed in ICU
    Unit Specific Information
  • 1 shift of unit-specific orientation for ICU
  • 1 shift for PCU
    Additional Details
  • No nurse aids on the unit
  • Centralized tele monitor techs not located in house
  • RNs required to read their own strips
