About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its mission of supporting families and advancing research for a rare genetic disorder. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, goal setting, and overseeing the execution of the organization's strategic goals. This role involves close collaboration with a passionate Board of Directors and a dedicated staff, as well as managing and developing all personnel. The CEO will also be the face of the organization, engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders, including other organizations, government representatives, and the public, to raise awareness and advocate for research funding.Key requirements for the CEO position include a personal and professional passion for working with families affected by the disorder, experience in a leadership role with a mission-driven organization, and a proven track record in fundraising. The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background, with an undergraduate degree as a minimum, and an MBA or similar advanced degree is desired. They should be results-driven, with a high level of business acumen, and possess the ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships with funders and donors. While not mandatory, an understanding of clinical research, drug development, and scientific advancements is a plus. The role also demands an engaged management style, a strategic vision, and the ability to lead a remote workforce.
