Job Title

Associate Attorney for Toxic Tort/Product Liability Practice Group

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our Toxic Tort/Product Liability practice group in our Chicago office.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A current, active license to practice law in Illinois;
  • At least 2 years of experience in civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, written discovery, motions, and other related litigation documents;
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills;
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and produce high-quality work;
  • A willingness to be proactive and take ownership of projects and assignments;
  • Experience handling mediations/arbitrations is a plus.

Associates take ownership of case management, with the support of a supervising partner, and handle all aspects of a file from inception through resolution/trial.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned caseload, including drafting pleadings, written discovery, motions, and other related litigation documents;
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case development and strategy;
  • Take and defend depositions, as well as prepare clients and/or insurance carriers for testimony;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues;
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, as well as industry trends and developments.

Requirements

  • Current, active license to practice law in Illinois (dual licensure with surrounding states desirable);
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in civil litigation;
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills;
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills;
