Trueline's client, a prestigious Education Law firm, is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate to join their team in Westbury, NY. This AV-rated boutique firm specializes in education law, special education law, public sector labor law, employment law, collective bargaining, administrative law, and civil litigation on behalf of school districts in both State and Federal courts.
What You'll Do as the Labor and Employment Associate:
- Handle labor counsel responsibilities, including contract grievances and arbitrations
- Represent clients in improper practices proceedings before PERB
- Participate in collective bargaining negotiations
- Provide advice and counsel on general and labor-related matters
- Conduct legal research and draft various legal documents
- Manage client communications and case files
- Assist with civil litigation in State and Federal courts
Must-Haves as the Labor and Employment Associate:
- 5+ years of experience in labor and employment law
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active New York State Bar admission
- Strong legal research, writing, and document drafting skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills
Nice-To-Haves as the Labor and Employment Associate:
- Experience in public or private sector collective bargaining
- Familiarity with education law and special education law
- Background in administrative law proceedings
- Experience representing school districts or other public entities
