About Your Role
As a Medication Aide, you will provide medication administration and direct resident care to residents daily, promoting independence while supporting their activities of daily living in a timely and preferred manner.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as prescribed and under the direction of a licensed nurse
- Promptly report to the nurse any resident's request/need for PRN medications
- Promptly report to the nurse any adverse or concerning reactions to medications
- Provide exceptional personal service and daily care to residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff management, and families
- Stay knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Provide physical resident care, including aspects of personal hygiene and grooming
- Respond to call lights in a timely manner and address resident needs accordingly
- Assist in maintaining acceptable nutrition for residents and document meal intake as prescribed
- Know proper first aid techniques
- Complete documentation of medication administration
- Contribute to maintaining a therapeutic environment for residents
- Motivate and encourage resident participation in activities
- Assist residents with transportation to and from activities
- Lift, turn, and reposition residents as needed
- Perform other duties assigned or delegated by the Director of Care or Designee
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
Required licenses and certifications include:
- Current valid Medication Aide Certificate authorized by the Ohio Board of Nursing
- CPR Certification
- Nurse Aide Certification
Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical (completed by our Nurse Practitioner) and background check.
