The School of Healthcare Business and Technology is seeking adjunct instructors to develop quality improvement and quality control programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other related content areas for courses at the undergraduate level will be considered. Courses will be delivered online to an adult learning population in a semester-based format. The courses are geared toward undergraduate students entering into the life sciences workforce, particularly in biomanufacturing. There is a focus on applying math and science in life sciences research and development, as well as manufacturing applications. The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise and real-world examples to guide the course outline development and the relevant course development process. The course delivery is intended to follow a problem-based and active learning approach.

- Provide expertise in developing and delivering course content in quality control and quality improvement, as well as other related content areas for life sciences and health analytics.
- Work with the Dean, Program Director, and the assigned instructional support contact to develop courses for academic credit.
- Develop course content with a problem-based approach, creating a more detailed breakdown of lessons and assignments, including rubrics.
- Provide guidance on the content to cover in each lesson. Review existing course content (if available) and recommend adaptations, changes, and updates.
- Work with the Dean, Program Director, and instructional support to develop content (videos, discussion boards, quizzes, live sessions, exams) as needed.
- Design content for engaging classroom sessions utilizing active learning and problem-based learning.
- Record lectures in class, present remotely or in a studio on the Boston campus.
- Determine the key learning concepts that need to be assessed and suggest effective and scalable assessment methods in line with the program assessment outline.
- Draft content for assessments corresponding to lessons/modules and cumulative assessments.
- Ensure the course meets the high-quality standards of other MCPHS online and on-campus courses.
- Recommend approaches for assignments and exams that ensure academic integrity and enable the course to scale in terms of enrollment.
- Identify tactics to improve the course based on feedback from its first run.
- The supervisor may assign additional responsibilities.
Required - Graduate degree in statistics, quality, or a related field with:
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in life sciences, biomanufacturing, or similar;
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at the college/university level with a demonstrated commitment to student engagement and success;
- Ability to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals);
- Experience in healthcare or life sciences quality improvement, project management, or operations;
- Professional certification in Quality Improvement or relevant certification.
